muskrat fur

The muskrat is the largest species in the subfamily Arvicolinae, which includes 142 other species of rodents, mostly voles and lemmings. Their fur is extremly glossy and the underfur is dense and lofty. Varying shades of frosty grey to darkest brown characterize the coat of this undervalued furbearer.
