Description

Your painting starts with my drawing. What happens next is yours.

Discover the pleasure of painting with genuine earth and mineral pigments.

Watercolour Studies is an artist-made watercolour painting kit featuring two original botanical illustrations and a generous six-colour palette of handmade watercolour paints.

Each drawing is created and printed in my studio on watercolour paper, ready for you to bring to life with colour. The paints are made by hand using carefully selected earth and mineral pigments, creating beautiful variations in texture, transparency and granulation.

There are no prescribed colour combinations, no numbered sections and no finished painting you’re expected to reproduce.

Just beautiful materials, original artwork and the freedom to make something entirely your own.

What’s Inside Your Watercolour Painting Kit

Two Original Botanical Painting Pages
Two 6 × 9-inch floral illustrations, drawn and studio-printed on watercolour paper. Each design provides a starting point for your own creative interpretation.

Six Handmade Earth & Mineral Watercolours
A generously sized, six-colour watercolour dot palette, handmade in my studio using earth and mineral pigments. Simply activate the dried paints with water and begin painting.

Unlike single-use paint kits, these palettes contain enough paint to continue experimenting, mixing colours and creating artwork beyond the two included illustrations.

Watercolour Swatch Bookmark
A specially designed watercolour-paper bookmark with spaces to create your own colour swatches. Test your paints, discover their characteristics and keep a little record of your palette.

Coordinating Colour-Swatch Sticker
A colourful sticker featuring the six shades in your handmade palette, reproduced from actual watercolour swatches.

Real Pigments. Handmade Paint. Your Imagination.

The watercolours in this kit aren’t commercially manufactured paints repackaged into smaller portions.

They’re made by hand in my studio, combining earth and mineral pigments with a traditional watercolour binder.

Natural pigment characteristics give each colour its own personality. Some settle into the texture of the paper, creating beautiful granulation. Others produce smooth washes, delicate transparency or rich, concentrated colour.

Part of the pleasure is discovering how these materials behave.

The six colours are intended to be explored rather than followed as a prescribed palette. Mix them together, dilute them into delicate washes, build layers or create entirely unexpected combinations.

And when you’ve finished the included paintings, keep going. Your handmade palette is a collection of art materials to enjoy well beyond this kit.

Made for Curious Makers

Whether you’re discovering watercolour painting for the first time, returning to a creative practice or simply looking for a different way to spend an afternoon, Watercolour Studies offers an inviting place to begin.

You don’t need to know how to draw. I’ve taken care of that part.

You don’t need to know which colours belong where. That’s entirely up to you.

And you certainly don’t need to make something perfect.

These kits also make thoughtful gifts for artists, creative friends, watercolour enthusiasts and anyone who appreciates beautiful materials and the pleasure of making something by hand.
