Description

A quiet watercolor practice, arriving in your mailbox each month.

Each month you’ll receive a signed 5×7 archival fine art print from my current painting practice, paired with a Studio Letter sharing the story behind the work and a soundtrack from my studio while it was created.

Every month begins with paying attention.

Some months I’m drawn to the weathered architecture of northern towns. Other months it’s a single wildflower, an unexpected colour combination, or the way light settles across a familiar landscape. Increasingly, I’m exploring abstraction; letting colour, texture, and memory become the subject instead of the object itself.

Rather than following themes or collections, I follow curiosity.

Each month’s print reflects whatever has quietly captured my attention and become worthy of painting. Sometimes the work begins in my sketchbook. Sometimes it begins on my iPad. Sometimes it starts with handmade earth pigments gathered from the landscape itself. However it begins, every print originates as an original artwork before being reproduced on archival fine art paper in my studio.

My hope is that, over time, these monthly prints become a collection not only of paintings, but of moments that invited us both to slow down and notice a little more carefully.

About the artist

I’m Vanessa Aegirsdottir, a Canadian artist living and working between Whitehorse, Yukon and Skagway, Alaska.

My work explores observation, place, and the quiet details we often overlook. While you may know me for my jewellery and earth pigments, watercolour has become another way of collecting the places, colours, and small moments that ask me to look a little longer.

Northern Blue gives me the structure to maintain a regular painting practice while inviting collectors into that process, one artwork at a time.

Founding Membership

The first 50 collectors will receive Founding Member pricing, locked in for as long as their subscription remains active.

My Promise

If your first print arrives and you don’t feel it was worth welcoming into your home, simply let me know within 14 days. I’ll refund your subscription, and the print is yours to keep.
